Reporter sharon is still dealing with the loss of her Fountain Grove home to the tubbs fire. Tonight shes got a whole new worry. The threat her lot my slide in the rain. Its scary. Its scary. Its just a watch, wait and see. Reporter city, county and state crews are working hard to gear up for the wet weather. Theyve covered hillsides with stabilizing hydro mulch and today closed circuit tv crews have been out in force using motorized cameras to inspect storm drains. Sur. I wouldnt be surprised 5 inches in mount tam watershed there. So thats why we have a Flash Flood Watch in effect for the burn areas of the north bay. Thats in effect until 3 a. M. Tomorrow morning. Thats 1 1 2 to three inches of rain probably more than that and then as we look at the rainfall forecast numbers, these are conservative numbers. Im expecting more rain in the hills than we have forecast. Rain so far has been relatively light, but thats going to change overnight. It means the morning commute is going to have a lot of water on the roadways. This is an Atmospheric River coming from the Hawaiian Islands and its focused on us here it goes. Theres the Hawaiian Islands. You see it right up into here and over the next 12 to 24 hours, about 36 hours, well see heavy rain especially in the coastal hills. So thats the overview. He tells us it was only 8 to 15 seconds between the time the lockdown was complete and the time neal arrived on the quad where students previously were. You can see the bullet holes through here. Reporter the maintenance supervisor wasnt here for the shooting but shows ktvu where Kevin Janson Neal took aim at four classrooms and school office. He said 80 children were playing in the quad Tuesday Morning when the school went into lockdown and the entire staff went into action including the janitor. Custodian, who is 64, 270 pounds, he took off, get into the classrooms, get into the classrooms and so at that point, he was able to get everyone inside so there was no one left on the blacktop. Its only rain drops this morning. Wilmington already starting to dry out. You can see a few showers in burkes county and into the Lehigh Valley. Thats how were starting today. But most of the day will be dry. Now theres still a chance that well see a few afternoon showers. You can see those to the west near western pennsylvania. Most of the day, you wont need your umbrella. Right now heading out, you willsee a few rain drops in philadelphia, 49 degrees. The 40s for much of new jersey. Now reporting 50 degrees. It will climb into the middle to upper 50s this afternoon. Well get some breaks of sunshine later on after another round of showers early this morning. And the temperatures that will peak in the 50s are going to get colder later today. Ill break the forecasts down hour by hour when i come back in less than ten minutes. And we are already tracking a very busy start to your thursday morning commute so be prepared. Be careful out there. A crash blocking all lanes right now in antioch. This is westbound 4 at a street. Quite a bit of debris from that accident in the lanes, as well. And they are hoping to get some of those lanes reopened here any minute so well keep you posted. In the meantime, you will need to use an alternate route. If you want to use somersville or kent street, you can get around that area. Over at the richmond parkway, we are seeing slowdowns in both directions. Eastbound 80 at mcdonald avenue, this crash has been out there for a while. Two lanes are closed but speeds are dipping just below the limit there. So not too bad. But please be careful. Lots of ponding on the roadways. Well have more in traffic coming up. Back to you guys. People in areas scarred by the wine country wildfires are concerned the storm could cause more problems. Among the major concerns, flooding and mudslides. A
