Montgomery county. Police are trying to figure out why someone would kill this couple. Dick and jodi vilardo were found dead on ridge drive yesterday. Reporter well eun, you can see behind me here that we still have a Police Officer watching over the scene and police tape across the front yard. Family members are heartbroken and they dont know what happened. Relatives had plans to meet dick and jodi vilardo on mothers day and when they didnt show family members went to their house and made the grim discovery. Dick vilardo was found outside the back of the house. Jodi vilardo was found dead inside the home. Police say both were suffering from trauma to the upper body. In a Statement Released by the family they say they were a warm and loving couple. We know of no one who would wish them harm. The vilardos were known for their work at the childrens inn at nih, a place for Sick Children participating in clinical trials. Police ar

I talked to a woman here in this line getting on the shuttle bus to foggy bottom who says she has been dealing with this for over two hours. Its been a long morning for everybody here. Major delays this morning. We met a lot of frustrated riders who cant get where theyre going. The orange blue and silver lines are suspended between foggy bottom and Arlington Cemetery and foggy boss tom and clarendon. Metro tells me there was no fire just smoke. Also from metro, no passengers were in darchger near the problem. Huge crowds trying to get on shuttle buses and figure out which ones are going exactly where. A public funeral is starting right now at d. C. Armory at southeast. Mayor bowser acting fire chief gregory deem representative Eleanor Holmesnorton and other dignitaries are expected to eulogize lieutenant mcerarae. He will then be buried at fort lincolngcoln cemetery. He was promoted to sergeant in 2003 and lieutenant in 2008. The 44yearold collapsed and died after fighting a fire in northwest last week. Lieutenant mcrae was the 100th d. C. Firefighter to die in the line of duty. The medical examiner has not yet determined a cause of death. Lieutenant mcrae leaves behind a wife and three children.
