African Centre for Justice and Peace Studies (ACJPS) expressed its deep concerns over the continued violation of human rights by law enforcers in Sudan, especially in West Darfur. The organisation highlights various examples of killings, detentions, illegitimate use of the Emergency Law, and other rights abuses, often involving the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Sudanese authorities said that the death toll from ongoing torrential rains and flooding has risen to at least 104, with a further 96 injured, figures that are likely to rise in the coming days. Two recent flooding-related deaths were reported yesterday in Kereinik, West Darfur, following flash flooding in Mornei.
Several medical staff workers’ groups are on strike in Sudan at the moment to protest bad managerial decisions, unpaid salaries, and poor working conditions. In North Darfur, civil servants also went on strike.

The Sovereignty Council announced that a ceremony will be held next week for the inauguration of a new batch of security forces concerned with the protection of civilians in Darfur as part of the implementation of the security arrangements stipulated in the Juba Peace Agreement. The presence of armed forces in Darfur has been subject to much controversy and negotiation over the past years.
