Sabah s cases spike to 370, with 113 from KK | Daily Express Online - Sabah s Leading News Portal

Published on: Friday, July 16, 2021 By: Anthea Peter Text Size: Kota Kinabalu: Kota Kinabalu recorded a three-digit high of 113 cases, which spiked Sabah’s daily caseload to 370 on Thursday from 286 on Wednesday.  Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun  (pic) said KK’s high number was largely contributed by new cases detected in existing clusters, with 49 from the Tembok Kota Kinabalu Cluster (Kepayan Prison). Covid: Kepayan prison records 51 new cases: Masidi

KOTA KINABALU: Fifty-one cases, out of a total of 242 new Covid-19 cases recorded in Sabah yesterday, stemmed from the Tembok Cluster at Kepayan Prison, said Sabah Local Government and Housing Minister, Datuk Masidi Manjun. He said the number of new cases in the Tembok Cluster also contributed to the total of 99 new cases reported in Kota Kinabalu yesterday, with 66 cases detected through cluster screening and another 33 cases from other screenings. “Apart from the Tembok Cluster, new cases were also recorded in Kota Kinabalu yesterday in two clusters involving workers on oil rigs, namely, the Ocean Blue Cluster and the Coral Cluster, with each recording five cases.
