Sabah’s daily Covid-19 caseload fell back below the 400 mark on Friday with 372 cases, a decrease by 64 compared to Thursday’s 436 cases.  Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said Kota Kinabalu again recorded double-digit cases of 96 compared to Thursday’s three-digit figure of 123.  “No other districts in Sabah recorded three-digit cases on Friday,” he said in a statement.  Several districts close to Kota Kinabalu such as Papar, Putatan and Tuaran recorded lower figures, but Penampang recorded an increase of six cases compared to Thursday’s 47.  The number of new cases due to sporadic infections dropped slightly from 66.06 per cent on Thursday to 58.33 per cent on Friday, but it is still considered high, according to Masidi.  “The sporadic infection rate in Kota Kinabalu was at 55.2pc, Penampang 64.2pc, Putatan 61.9pc and Tuaran 52.2pc. COVID-19: Malaysia records 691 new cases today, highest since pandemic hit country

Malaysia recorded its highest-ever daily figure of new COVID-19 cases today, with 691 cases reported over the past 24 hours, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.He said that in line with the sudden spike, the total number of active cases also increased to 2,936.The latest development also sees the cumulative total number of cases rising to 13,504 over the last three days, after the figure exceeded the 12,000-mark when 12,088 cases were recorded on Oct 3.A total of 394 cases, which is more than half of today’s figure, involved the Tembok Cluster in Kedah, he told a press conference via the Ministry of Health (MOH) Facebook.

KOTA KINABALU: Fifty-one cases, out of a total of 242 new Covid-19 cases recorded in Sabah yesterday, stemmed from the Tembok Cluster at Kepayan Prison, said Sabah Local Government and Housing Minister, Datuk Masidi Manjun. He said the number of new cases in the Tembok Cluster also contributed to the total of 99 new cases reported in Kota Kinabalu yesterday, with 66 cases detected through cluster screening and another 33 cases from other screenings. “Apart from the Tembok Cluster, new cases were also recorded in Kota Kinabalu yesterday in two clusters involving workers on oil rigs, namely, the Ocean Blue Cluster and the Coral Cluster, with each recording five cases.

7:27 PM MYT PETALING JAYA: Eleven new Covid-19 clusters have been detected with many of them linked to workplaces and factories around the country. Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that 119 cases were detected in the Taman Integrasi cluster, which is linked to a workers dormitory in the Rawang Integrated Industrial Park. He said that 99 cases were detected in the Jalan Ijuk cluster that is linked to a factory in the Hicom Industrial Estate in Shah Alam while the Jalan Rami cluster in Muar, Johor has seen 112 positive cases from a factory. The Kota cluster in Kota Tinggi, Johor has reported 57 positive cases while the Tanjung Megah cluster in Pontian, Johor that is linked to a workplace has seen 12 positive cases reported.
