Body of missing Chicago man found in central Kentucky

RADCLIFF, Ky. (AP) The body of a missing Chicago man has been found in central Kentucky, police said.
The fatal shooting of Quincy K. Ukaigwe, 30, is being investigated as a homicide by Kentucky State Police and federal authorities, officials said.
Ukaigwe was reported missing to Chicago authorities on April 18 after traveling to Kentucky to visit a childhood friend, police said in a statement. Kentucky State Police were notified about the disappearance and located a body in a wooded area near a cemetery in Radcliff on May 1.
The Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville identified the body as Ukaigwe.

Woodrum later located the vehicle at the Crossroads IGA in Upton. Shortly after finding the vehicle, Woodrum came in contact with the occupant of the stolen vehicle, Joseph Smith, 25. A physical altercation took place between the men, at some point during the fight, Woodrum shot Smith. Smith was pronounced dead on the scene by the Hardin County Coroner’s Office and his body was taken to the

According to a news release, round 9 p.m. Friday, KSP Post 4 received multiple calls stating someone had been shot outside the Upton store.
Police said preliminary findings revealed earlier in the day, Ryan Woodrum, 25, of Upton, had discovered his wifeâs vehicle had been stolen from their residence in Hart County.
He later located the vehicle at Crossroads IGA. Police said a fight occurred after Woodrum came in contact with the occupant of the stolen vehicle, Joseph Smith, 25, of Cecilia.
During the altercation, Woodrum allegedly fired a handgun and Smith was shot.
