State troopers are investigating the shooting that occurred in the Crossroads IGA parking lot.Â
According to a news release, round 9 p.m. Friday, KSP Post 4 received multiple calls stating someone had been shot outside the Upton store.
Police said preliminary findings revealed earlier in the day, Ryan Woodrum, 25, of Upton, had discovered his wifeâs vehicle had been stolen from their residence in Hart County.
He later located the vehicle at Crossroads IGA. Police said a fight occurred after Woodrum came in contact with the occupant of the stolen vehicle, Joseph Smith, 25, of Cecilia.
During the altercation, Woodrum allegedly fired a handgun and Smith was shot.
