St Kentigern able to reopen 10 charity shops across North Wales and distribution centre

The stores, which have been closed since December 2020 in line with Covid restrictions, opened on Monday. The hospice, which is based in St Asaph, has 10 charity shops across North Wales and a distribution centre in Bodelwyddan. Val Corner, retail operations manager, said, “We are very excited to be re-opening our stores and we’re looking forward to being able to welcome back our fabulous volunteers and the public. Our network of charity shops is a vital part of the fundraising efforts for the hospice and the money we raise helps to support the local community. Safety measures are in place to make sure that people can shop with us safely.

A ECO friendly gin and spirit producer has teamed up with St Kentigern Hospice. Angel Feathers is a small family run business with nature and sustainability at its core. All fruits and botanicals are home-grown and picked from their Moel Famau Micro Fruitery to ensure they capture the ripe flavours at their peak. St Kentigern, in St Asaph, have chosen Rhubarb and Blackcurrant flavours. A percentage of the sales (£5 from every standard bottle sold) will be donated to the hospice. Katharine Wilding, founder of Angel Feathers said: “We are very proud to be partnering with St Kentigern Hospice and donating proceeds from our Rhubarb and Blackcurrant Gins, which in turn will contribute and support the fantastic care and work our local hospice provides for the patients and their families.

Cash-strapped North Wales hospice gets on its bike to raise funds

A CASH-strapped community hospice which has had its fund-raising events decimated by the coronavirus pandemic is holding a bumper bike sale this Saturday to boost its coffers. Managers of St Kentigern Hospice, which provides palliative care for people in Denbighshire and Flintshire, have been bowled over by the generosity of the public who have donated ore than a hundred unwanted bikes to be sold off. Jim O’Toole, Chairman of St Kentigern Hospice board of directors, came up with the idea of launching an appeal for second-hand bikes to be sold off in aid of the hospice funds in the run-up to Christmas.
