Power outages. Alex savidge is in San Francisco now. Tell us more about the Power Outages. Reporter well, last nights light show fun to watch. Now a lot of people waking up in the dark across the bay area because of the storms. At last check, about 1800 homes and businesses without power. A lot of them right here in San Francisco where we are this morning. Were out in the sunset district. And you can see this particular outage is here near the intersection of 35th avenue. And crews have been out here since last night, working hard to get the power back on for this neighborhood after lightning took down one of the power lines on the street at about 9 30 or so last night. People in this neighborhood, they pulled out the flashlights this morning to get ready for work or for school with no lights. All of these outages, various outages across the bay area were caused by last nights thunderstorms. You see that lightning lit up the San Francisco skyline and lightning reported all over the bay
Hitandrun in oakland around 1 30 on east 159 street. Live where the suspect was taken into custody. Police called to a nearby intersection where they found a young girl seriously injured. Witnesses say she was hit by a car near an Elementary School and dragged a few feet. She was rushed to the hospital at this hour in critical condition. Police believe the driver kept going. Crashed on foothill boulevard. She was arrested. Well precinct you a live report in 15 minutes. Many got a first and up close look at the true magnitude of their losses as they returned home. Northbound 880 before auto mall parkway, there is a deadly crash that happened just after 2 00 this morning that was reported as a wrongway driver. One person reported dead. They have a car on the tow truck, and theyre trying to get it out of the center divide. Even though lanes are blocked, its not causing a huge backup because its so early in the morning and cars are getting by. Chp is there and were going to be there for a little longer. Northbound 880 before auto mall parkway, somebody traffic may be affected, but theyre in the cleanup stages hereof this crash.
