Presented each year by the UK Office of Undergraduate Research, this student-nominated award recognizes UK faculty members who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to mentoring undergraduate researchers, provide exceptional undergraduate research experiences, as well as support and promote the undergraduate research initiatives on campus.
“For someone who is really interested in immunology, I can’t imagine a better place to be working,” UK graduate Courtney Shields said. “I didn’t know if I really had enough of a background in immunology to be selected, and I thought it was an extremely long shot, but somehow it ended up working in my favor.”
