FORT SMITH The five finalists for the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith's provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs position visited the campus over the past two weeks.

A University of Arkansas-Fort Smith professor recently became the first person in Arkansas to earn the National Geospacial Certification.
Cady is a professor for the College of Applied Science and Technology and focuses on computer graphics and unmanned aerial programs. Students are able to use these programs for agriculture and surveying when they pursue an associates degree in geographic information system mapping also known as GIS.
In this degree, students learn to program drones to fly themselves and later analyze the data those drones collect. It s about program improvement, said Ken Warden, dean of the College of Applied Science and Technology.
