Horrific domestic violence offender released from jail

Premium Content Subscriber only A horrific domestic violence offender assaulted his victim then punched her windscreen because she refused to drive him somewhere, a court heard. The man, 23, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Friday to several charges including two counts of common assault. Police prosecutor Kelvin Boyd read the facts of the man’s case to the court and Magistrate Bevan Manthey. The worst of the man’s offending occurred on February 4, when the defendant and the aggrieved were driving on the Scenic Hwy at Emu Park, Queensland. At 6pm, the aggrieved was driving her car and the defendant was the passenger in the front seat.

Loud music leads to community service for Gladstone man

John William Sten, 42, pleaded guilty to public nuisance and obstructing police. Police prosecutor Kelvin Boyd read the facts of Sten’s case to the court and Magistrate Bevan Manthey. At 9.20pm on March 11 , police attended William Street, Gladstone Central following a reported noise complaint. After repeatedly knocking for a number of minutes, Sten opened the door and turned down his loud music after police requested he do so. Police observed Sten to be unsteady on his feet and smelling of liquor.

Woman sobs in court after copping huge driving suspension

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to contravening a domestic violence order and driving under the influence of liquor. At 10.30pm on January 8 police were tasked with attending an address on Colombia Ave, Clinton in relation to a disturbance. The defendant’s son told police the woman and his father just had a fight which forced him to step in and separate the pair.

Drunk DV offender arrested for refusing to leave house

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to contravening a domestic violence order. On November 22 police were called to a unit at Gladstone Central after the defendant became verbally abusive towards the aggrieved and refused to leave. Police arrived on scene and located both parties who were spoken to separately, and realised the defendant was intoxicated.

Woman threw iced coffee over mum during marijuana argument

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on Tuesday via video-link from the Capricornia Correctional Centre. She pleaded guilty to five charges including breach of bail condition, possessing utensil or pipes that had been used, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence and contravening a domestic violence order.
