A heated disagreement between two former best mates over four-wheel drive equipment spiralled into violence, a court heard.
Nicholas Jake Downie, 24, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday to common assault.

On the night of August 14 last year, a group of friends and associates arrived at a 4WD event at Landcruiser Park near Kilcoy, Queensland.
The victim, 32, who was previously good friends with Downie, had recently purchased a specific piece of 4WD equipment from the ex-partner of Downie.

A man charged with possessing a 24cm flick knife laughed when a magistrate discovered it was his second weapons-related offence in five years.
Kyle David Stein, 28, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday to unlawful possession of a weapon.
Police prosecutor Kelvin Boyd read the facts of Steinâs case to the court and Acting Magistrate Damian Carroll.
Stein was intercepted by police while parked in his blue Ford Falcon in Gladstone Central at 10.45pm on April 8.
After a brief conversation with police, they decided to search Steinâs car and asked him if he had anything to declare.
10 Hamilton County Students Chosen For EPB ArtSpark Project
Artwork To Be Displayed On EPB Utility Boxes And In EPB Windows Friday, May 7, 2021
EPB has selected 10 winners from Hamilton County Schools for the third annual “ArtSpark Goes to School” challenge. The high school students were honored on Thursday during an event at EPB’s downtown building. Throughout the month of May, their work will be displayed in the EPB windows at the corner of Market St. and Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. The student artwork has also been used to beautify EPB utility boxes located across the community. With the completion of this year’s ArtSpark program, EPB will now have 25 utility boxes wrapped with student artwork. The following students contributed their work for this year’s project:

A woman who swore at police repeatedly after they attended a loud birthday party, appeared in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Kimberly Nichole Morris, 33, pleaded guilty to committing a public nuisance and not complying with a noise abatement direction.
Prosecutor Kelvin Boyd read the facts of Morrisâ case to the court and Acting Magistrate Ron Muirhead.
On April 2, about 10.30pm, police attended an address on Breslin St, Gladstone, in relation to a noise complaint.
Police heard excessive noise, namely amplified music, from the house as well as loud voices from a gathering inside.
Upon arrival, police heard several voices yelling âItâs the copsâ, and as they approached the house Morris burst out and confronted them.

Jyde Shaun Dwyer, 26, pleaded guilty driving unlicensed before Acting Magistrate Ron Muirhead.
Prosecutor Kelvin Boyd read the facts of Dwyer’s case to the court, which commenced on January 1, 2021.
On that date, Dwyer completed a six month licence disqualification and he was instructed by the court to reapply, however, failed to do so.
Around 3pm on Tuesday, February 9 police from Coomera Road Policing Unit on the Gold Coast were conducting speeding enforcement on Gilston Rd, Nerang.
Dwyer was detected speeding in a grey Volkswagen Amarok ute and was stopped for the offence.
A roadside computer check confirmed Dwyer was unlicensed at the time and he had no lawful or emergency reason for driving.
