The annual River City Christmas Night Market and Street Food Festival returns this weekend. For the second year running, the event will be held at the Whanganui racecourse. It kicks off at 2pm on Sunday and organisers Kelly Scarrow and Darryl Mallett say it will be the biggest one yet.

The 2020 Whanganui Christmas Parade attracted a record crowd on Saturday, with organiser Kelly Scarrow saying it was the biggest and best she has seen. We had 41 floats and they were stunning this year, Scarrow said.
