Multiple fire departments respond to fully involved house fire in Ionia County

IONIA COUNTY, MI – Several fire departments responded to a fully involved house fire early Thursday, Feb. 18.
The fire was reported around 7 a.m. in the 2000 block of Kellogg Road, between East Parmeter and Cooper roads, in Ionia, Ionia County Central Dispatch reported.
Firefighters said the structure was engulfed in flames, with a wall collapsing. Firefighters from several departments were called in to help.
Firefighters remain at the scene.

Woman found dead after fire engulfs her home

The victim’s name was not immediately released.
The fire was reported at 6:54 a.m. in the 2200 block of Kellogg Road, between East Parmeter and Cooper roads, Ionia County Department of Public Safety reported.
While police officers and firefighters were responding, they were told that the homeowner was still inside. The house was engulfed in flames upon rescuers’ arrival. They could not enter the home because of heavy fire.
The victim was later found dead in the home.
Ionia Department of Public Safety and the state fire marshal are investigating the cause of the fire.
