Grewal Finishes Third at The Spirit International Tournament

Clemson, S.C. Clemson junior Savannah Grewal fired a final round 71 and finished in third place individually at The Spirit,  an international amateur tournament at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas. The one-of-a-kind amateur event features four person teams from 20 different countries.  Each team had two men and two women.  Grewal, a native of Ontario, Canada, competed for the Canadian team. Grewal had rounds of 71-69-71 for a five-under-par score of 211.  Her consistency was a big part of her success as she had just three bogeys in her 54 holes and at one time had a streak of  36 consecutive holes without a bogey.   Grewal had 42 pars among her 54 holes to lead the field of 40 players, ranked second in par three scoring average at 2.83 and third in par four scoring average at 3.93. Clemson Tied for Eighth Entering Final Round of Landfall Tradition

Clemson, S.C. Annabelle Pancake shot her second straight even-par 72 to lead Clemson in the second round of the Landfall Tradition at the Golf Club of Landfall in Wilmington, NC.  Clemson is tied for eighth with NC State in the 18-team tournament that features four of the top 10, and seven of the top 25 teams in the nation.  The 54-hole event concludes on Sunday with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. Michigan holds the team lead with a 568 score.   Clemson’s 36-hole score is  584.  Clemson is one shot ahead of ninth-ranked Texas and six shots ahead of 18th ranked Florida State. Pancake, a sophomore from Indiana, is one of just seven players in the 96-player field to shoot even-par-or-better each of the first two rounds.  She had four birdies and four bogeys on the difficult par 72 Dye Course on Saturday.    She stands in a tie for 19th place overall with a 144 total. Pancake Leads Clemson at Landfall Tradition

Clemson, S.C Sophomore Annabelle Pancake shot a one-under-par 71 on Sunday to finish in 12th place individually at the Landfall Tradition at the Dye Course at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, NC.    The tournament concluded the fall portion of the schedule for the Clemson women’s golf team.Clemson finished 12th out of 18 teams as a team at the national tournament that featured four of the top 10 teams, and seven of the top 25 teams in the nation.   Clemson finished with a three-day total of 889, 25-over-par.Pancake had her best tournament of the year with a 54-hole score of 215, one-under-par on the par 72 course that measured 6,150 yards.  Pancake had rounds of  72-72-71 to become one of just four players in the 96-player field to shoot par or better in all three rounds.  The others to do it were Emily Mahar of Virginia Tech, Amelia Williamson of Florida State, and Kan Bunnabodee of Purdue.Pancake shot four-under-par 32 on the back nine Sunday, her first nine of

Clemson tied for 3rd after first round of Landfall Tradition

Clemson, S.C. Callista Rice and Annabelle Pancake both shot even-par rounds of 72 in difficult conditions to lead Clemson to a tie for third place after the first round of the Landfall Tradition at the Landfall Golf Club in Wilmington, NC.   The 18-team field continues play with 18 holes on Saturday.   Sunday’s final round begins at 8:45 a.m. with a shotgun start.It was an impressive performance for Kelley Hester’s Tigers as Clemson is just two shots off the lead head by 15th ranked Michigan at 289.  Fourth-ranked Virginia is second at two-over par 290, while Clemson is tied for third with sixth-ranked South Carolina and ninth-ranked Texas.   Clemson is ahead seventh-ranked Wake Forest (295) and 18th ranked Florida State (303).  The field has four top 10 teams and seven top 25 teams according to the latest Golfstat.com rankings.“We played well on the front nine,” said Head Coach Kelley Hester.  “The wind came up when we were on the back nine and the course played

Clemson Concludes Fall Schedule at Landfall Tradition

Clemson, S.C. Coming off its best finish in two years, the Clemson women’s golf team will finish its fall schedule this weekend at the Landfall Tradition at the  Country Club of  Landfall’s Pete Dye Course in Wilmington, NC.   Clemson will be one of 18 teams competing for the championship on the  par 72 course that measures 6,150 yards.The national field includes six of the top 20 teams in the nation  according to the latest polls conducted by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association,  Golfstat and Golfweek.   Clemson is ranked 33rd by Golfstat, but is coming off its best performance  since the opening  tournament of the 2019-20 season, a span of 12 tournaments.The field includes ACC teams Florida  State, NC  State, North Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.   ACC teams have won this event seven times, and four of the last six years.     The Big Ten representatives include Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, and Purdue.   Reigning to
