Now the Norfolk Police department is mourning this k9 officers death. Police say it started after a fight with his wife. She called 911 saying richardson held her at gunpoint and was trying to kill her. Police say when they got there he barricaded himself in the house. Eventually richardson came out of the house with a gun according to police and thats when they released krijger on him to take him down. Police say richardson shot and killed the dog. Thats when police say they shot back hitting but not killing richardson.
