tonight. a plane that took off from dulles hit some severe turbulence and had to make an emergency landing there. good evening, i m doreen gentzler. and i m jim vance. united airlines flight 967 took off from dulles at about 5:30 this evening on its way to los angeles. but somewhere over kansas airspace, the 777 hit severe turbulence. united officials say the crew decided to divert to denver international airport where it made an emergency landing. 255 passengers and ten crew members were on the plane. the fire spokesman in denver says there are preliminary reports of about 30 people injured. one person was taken to a hospital with what are described as serious injuries. others were being treated on the scene. faa investigators were immediately called to the scene. united airlines is now working to find flights for those who were not injured. we are also following a developing story closer to home. police in montgomery county say a well regarded art dealer has been killed
