Avis man accused of abusing infant | News, Sports, Jobs

Aaron Confer AVIS Aaron Confer, 22, of West Central Avenue in Avis, has been charged with aggravated assault (F2), simple assault (M1), strangulation (F2), recklessly endangering another person (M2), and endangering welfare of children (F2) following an incident at his residence on Wednesday, Feb. 10. Pine Creek Township Police were called to the Lock Haven Hospital after a mother had taken her 3-month-old child to the hospital for injuries and bruises on the infant’s body. The mother reported to police she had recently installed surveillance cameras inside her residence and had observed the child’s father, Aaron Confer, being physically aggressive with the baby earlier in the day and had yelled at him through the camera system.

Participants also met with Magisterial District Judge Keith Kibler, Sheriff Kerry Stover, Chief of Police Kristin Smith, and Chief Probation Officer Jason Foltz who explained the different judicial systems in Clinton County and how our local law enforcement agencies work together to keep Clinton County safe.

City police Detective Richard Simpson detailed the bruises, cuts and other injuries an autopsy revealed were all over Anson Landon Mitchell Stover’s body. He had black eyes and a cut on his penis, the detective said, adding that the boy’s fingers were purple.

Avis man bound over for trial | News, Sports, Jobs

Eric King LOCK HAVEN Eric Montague King, 44, of Lafayette Street, Avis, was bound over for trial on one count of Stalking, three counts of Indecent Assault, and one count of Harassment by District Judge Keith Kibler following a preliminary hearing on Tuesday morning. Police allege that King had made unwanted physical contact with three women on three separate occasions in Avis and Pine Creek Township in September and November of this year. Two of the women testified at the preliminary hearing Tuesday and provided detailed accounts of what occurred. The first woman, a 66-year-old, testified that she was walking her dog when she encountered King who was also walking his two dogs in Avis on Sept. 23.
