Piper Sonoma Partners with Farm to Pantry
Two Sonoma-rooted brands come together to combat food insecurity April 14, 2021
Healdsburg, CA Tuesday April 13, 2021 Historic Sonoma County sparkling wine producer, Piper Sonoma, has partnered with Sonoma-based Farm to Pantry, to provide financial support to help continue the efforts to bring otherwise discarded local produce to those facing food insecurity across Sonoma County.
Funds from this partnership will help rescue more than 10,000 pounds of produce (the equivalent to over 40,000 servings of fruits and vegetables), reducing food waste and also reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and it comes at a crucial time for the community, as one in three Sonoma County neighbors are facing food insecurity and the demand for food is up 235% (Source: Redwood Empire Food Bank ).
