APRIL 30 20 years ago (2001) Joni Meyer, a member of the Ladies Professional Golf Assn. teaching and club professional division, has returned from LPGA training courses at Daytona Beach, FL, and Phoenix, AZ. Meyer works out of Breezy Point Resort s Whitebirch Golf Club.

It was used for hauling freight from the NP (Northern Pacific Railroad) depot to stores around town as well as for other kinds of moving. The picture was taken in front of the railroad freight office. Before the truck, Silas Hal used teams of horses and wagons which he kept at 415 Main (now Washington Street). The large wooden sign greets visitors northbound into Baxter. It was placed near Isle Drive after controversy over its intended site near the Mississippi River bridge.
