© Supplied by David Mackay Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross is giving money from his first Holyrood pay cheque to a charity in memory of a Moray teenager. Keiran’s Legacy will be given around £800 from the MSP’s salary, we can reveal, following a pre-election pledge by Mr Ross not to take another income on top of his MP’s pay. Keen mountain-biker Kieran McKandie, 16, was cycling from his family home near Elgin in March 2016 when he was struck by a car and later died. His family began a campaign for better co-ordination between emergency services after it emerged the nearest ambulance was 38 miles away.

Sign Up A north-est youngster has been handed a defibrillator to keep her community safe after her crusade struck a chord with the mum of tragic teenager Keiran McKandie. Upon finding out that the nearest resuscitation device to Crudie was located in the next town over, and the nearest hospital some 30 miles away in Aberdeen, Olivia Rees started her own fundraising crusade to ensure vulnerable people in the village were looked after.

The 40-strong team from the Fiona Elcock Centre hopped, shimmied and waved their hands on their way to raising money for charity Keiran’s Legacy. For the last week the medics have been boogieing at scenic locations across Moray including Grant Park in Forres, Cooper Park in Elgin and the Craigellachie Bridge.
