Five sarpanches to be elected unanimously in East Godavari district

Panchayat officials said though the time for filing nominations ended at 5 p.m., many candidates remained in queue to file their nominations
According to primary information, at Sankhavaram, Achampet and Jaggampet in Sankhavaram mandal, Poduru in Rowthulapudi mandal, and Lachipalem in Tallarevu mandal, only single nominations have been received for sarpanch posts. KAKINADA: As the last day of filing nominations in East Godavari district ended on Sunday, there are indications that at least five sarpanches will be elected unanimously.
Collector DMuralidhar Reddy said that the State government is successfully implementing the state-of-the-art priority programmes in East Godavari district with the objective of public welfare, development and higher living standards. The 72nd Republic Day celebrations in Kakinada Smart City were marked by pomp and gaiety on Tuesday. Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi, Joint Collectors Dr G Raja Kumari, Keerthi Chekuri, Municipal Commissioner Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar and others were present.
