KAKINADA: Many senior citizens, suffering from hyper-tension and diabetes and other chronic diseases are having a nightmarish time in their desperation for the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine, particularly with regard to Covaxin.
When the government accorded priority to them in March, many of them got the first dose of Covaxin. But, now, they are anxious as already 50 to 60 days have passed, and they are unsure about when they will get the second dose.

With each passing day, the number of coronavirus cases are increasing in Andhra Pradesh. Kakinada district collector D Muralidhar Reddy alerted the officials in view of the second wave of coronavirus. He conducted a review meeting with Joint Collectors - Dr. G Lakshmisha and Keerthi Chekuri and Kakinada Municipal Commissioner Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar at the Collectorate on Friday and asserted that steps should be taken to contain the spread of coronavirus.
He further added that separate cells would operate in the district so that they would respond instantly to the corona cases which are registered.

Panchayat officials said though the time for filing nominations ended at 5 p.m., many candidates remained in queue to file their nominations
According to primary information, at Sankhavaram, Achampet and Jaggampet in Sankhavaram mandal, Poduru in Rowthulapudi mandal, and Lachipalem in Tallarevu mandal, only single nominations have been received for sarpanch posts. KAKINADA: As the last day of filing nominations in East Godavari district ended on Sunday, there are indications that at least five sarpanches will be elected unanimously.
