Keep Round Rock Safe, a political action committee that identified itself as a coalition of local business owners who are "advocating for new sign rules," failed to meet the needed signatures to place its charter amendment on the ballot, according to Round Rock city officials.
Keep Round Rock Safe, a group pushing for more billboards in the City of Round Rock, said it turned in 4,203 signatures to the city Tuesday, surpassing the required amount of signatures needed.
The city of Round Rock issued a warning to voters ahead of Tuesday's general election to be aware of a "misleading" petition circulating outside of polling sites that is calling for a charter amendment to add up to 12 billboards along I-35 within city limits.
