TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) A group from Oregon wants to become part of a greater Idaho, by asking legislators from both states to consider redrawing the state boundaries. KMVT took a look to see what type of support the proposal has. The group called Move Oregon’s Border for a Greater Idaho wants the Gem State to absorb a good portion of Oregon, due to their belief that the needs of the conservative rural residents are being dominated by the liberal urban centers in the northwest part of the state.

Greater Idaho movement: Merging Idaho with parts of Oregon, California

If one group has its way, those frustrated far Northern Californians wouldn t have to move anywhere and instead let Idaho come to them. A grass-roots movement called Move Oregon’s Border For a Greater Idaho wants to see Idaho s boundary swallow three-fourths of like-minded Oregon and eventually encompass parts of the North State and southeastern Washington. A lot of people call in from Northern California and ask to help out in any way, said Keaton Ems, a spokesman for Move Oregon’s Border For a Greater Idaho.
