The Kearsley Board of Education accepted Walworth’s retirement, effective June 30, at its Monday meeting.
The board also voted at the same meeting to hire the district’s Assistant Superintendent Paul Gaudard to become the new superintendent starting July 1.
“This was not an easy decision for me as Kearsley has always been part of my life,” Walworth wrote in a Tuesday, Jan. 12 letter.
Walworth wrote that the board could not have picked a better replacement than Gaudard.
