KANSAS CITY, Mo. â A city that brags to the world about its iconic barbecue has lost one of its icons.
LC Richardson, the owner of
LC s Bar-B-Q, died Wednesday morning a restaurant employee told 41 Action News.
Richardson first opened the popular Kansas City, Missouri, restaurant in 1986 at 5800 Blue Parkway.
The restaurant held a special place in the stomachs of Kansas City Chiefs fans, who would often visit the restaurant on their way to Arrowhead Stadium.
Several years ago, when the Chiefs first hired head coach Andy Reid, Richardson told 41 Action News he was excited about the hire because it would change the team s fortunes, leading more fans to the game, and eventually more Chiefs fans stopping by at his restaurant.
