At their first coed track meet of the season in Lynnville-Sully, Pleasantville’s track teams finished in the top three as a team.
The Trojans’ girls finished third and had three first place finishes in the meet. Kaylee Hodenfield topped the shot put. Hailee McCormick finished first in the 1500 meter run. Madilyn Rowson finished first in the 200 meter dash.
Pleasantville’s girls will take a trip with fellow Marion County opponents, PCM and Twin Cedars, to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. The Trojans’ girls will be with PCM in Baxter Friday.
Pleasantville’s girls’ track team will play their second meet of the season on the road as they travel to Clarke.
The Trojans finished fifth in the PCM Early Bird Invitational Tuesday with 51 points, including top three finishes from Amy Kish and Kaylee Hodenfield. In this meet, Pleasantville will also be competing with fellow Marion County foe Knoxville. Coach Aaron Fichter tells KNIA Sports that he is looking forward to getting his team back into shape as competition heats up.
“A major goal was to get them out and see other kids competing and shake some of that off. Show that they can go out and compete with other kids. They need that experience.”
