No Charges Filed In Fatal Christmas Day Shooting Near Waterloo Authorities have closed their investigation of a fatal Christmas day shooting near Waterloo without filing any charges in the case. Black Hawk County sheriff s officials released additional details on the incident Tuesday. In a press release, they confirmed that the victim s father, 69-year-old David Buck, was the family member who shot and killed 43-year-old Chad Buck at 1347 E. Airline Highway. Authorities said Chad Buck lived in the home with his parents. Sheriff s officials said their investigation revealed that an argument took place between Chad Buck and David Buck, who was in a frail medical condition. According to authorities, the altercation was heated and progressed to the point in which David Buck was concerned for his safety.
