Jenkins Bridge Foundation group hosting duck race The Jenkins Bridge Foundation is planning a duck race at the historic bridge, starting at 2 p.m. on May 8. The day will include duck races, a music jam session, food and games. Duck chances can be purchased for $5 each or three for $10. First place will be half the profit on the race entries. The Foundation recently received an anonymous donation of $10,000 toward the funds needed to restore the bridge for pedestrian use. Many area residents have memories of swimming and jumping off the bridge, picnics, baptizing and celebrations at the bridge. Donations for restoration can be made online or deposited directly in 1st Independent Bank in Aurora.
