ohio. party voters come home when you get close to the election. everybody knew there would be some tightening of the big democratic edge, i wonder if you think the brett kavanaugh hearings were kind of a break point that has really helped the republicans as they go into these final few weeks of this campaign? i think it did solidify their base. these judicial appointments with republicans are a huge issue. i think it woke up their base. the energy level increased in the polls. already-energized base on our side for the kavanaugh issue and a variety of other issues. it helped tighten things up. still two weeks left and really important issues. the economic issues, you know the issues around health care, what joe said earlier about the tax cut we should be campaigning on we ll repeal 83% of the tax cut.
for them? no. it s too much into the weeds. it s back and forth. republicans want to win they should stay on basic principals. the president is opposed. the house is opposed to open immigration and borders. if we lose the house there will be no reform. look at the caravan that s coming up here. once they cross the border it s catch and release. you have to explain that to people. if anybody gets here. you have to release them. 90%, of course. most of the bad guys will never report to a court. that s the strong thing. you have the kavanaugh issue. do you want them to go after impeaching the president or
females voting with the rise of the me too movement and things like the kavanaugh issue. women feel like they need to have a voice. they realize it s so important to get out there and vote. ed: what about that voice, beth? on the kavanaugh issue there is an assumption in the mainstream media that kavanaugh was antiwoman because of allegations that were unproven. i have heard a lot of women interviewed by us and other networks saying wait a second, i backed justice kavanaugh and i think he was treated unfairly. right. well, i was one that dig d. back justice kavanaugh as a conservative woman. absolutely women are going to make a difference in this election. pew research center came out with has stated that women made up 55% of the electric tore rat in 2016. and at this point, i believe it s democrats are actually counting on us to vote. they want to flip congress. we actually do have an unprecedented amount of women that are running for congress. i believe there is 256. and out of tha
my good friend doug s numbers are up, but only up to 41. with barack obama and any other president at mid-term in the last 20 years, when the numbers had been that low, when 55 to 60% of the country doesn t like the direction it s going or the president, then you are going to have a blue wave or we can anticipate a blue wave in the house and maybe in the senate. we are all prognosticators, but these numbers don t look good. the kavanaugh boost is what you are looking at and three weeks from now, kavanaugh will be history because donald trump s tweets will take over and dominate politics. you mentioned kavanaugh and do you believe that is in part why house candidates might be leading by 11 points according to new polling? they were leading before the kavanaugh debacle, but the kavanaugh issue, what happened with women, independents,
bravery, but it takes something to go into an interview like that clearly having no command of the facts and pretend like they re going to come out some place. you look at him and the way that he comports himself, what does it say? trump s first instinct always is to deny. and he respects people who deny when there are allegations, whether it s the saudis, kavanaugh, whether it s him. so it s almost as if that is the first instinct, no matter what the accusation is. and then you say you re going to conduct some kind of investigation. he says we re going to look into it just like he says we ll into the kavanaugh issue and putin. but then there s no real investigation and then there s a new strakz lidistraction like k. that is part of the strategy, i think, is you deny because if you admit just a little bit, you
