the senate, where is that as of tonight? it looks like republicans will keep the senate. they might even pick up seats. north dakota kramer took the lead and he is up by double digits against heidi heitkamp. i think missouri and indiana look like pick up opportunities for republicans. you want to talk about the kavanaugh effect? that s real in the state of missouri. josh haldey ran an ad after the confirmation hearing and attackiattack ing claire mccaskill. heller has been up in some polls. i think republicans will retain arizona and nevada. tucker: that would be a huge win. i don t want to embarrass
leaving people behind. for the immigrants, immigration is the steroid shot in the arm that really bolsters us. the kavanaugh effect was a sugar high, it ended very quickly. one of the things that republicans do. threat of the other, the invader. this migrant caravan, over 1,000 miles away and not a threat at this point in time, it really does resonate. i mean, when i look at what trump talking about the migrant caravan, if we ever hear from a defense contract for the defense department that an asteroid is coming and will hit us in 100 years, trump will clearly be all over it with space force. okay, you re being glib and cute. the issue, elddie, does this work, right. so the president is going with ending birth right citizenship. which he might not even have the ability to do. but this threat, this idea, this position, does it work for
and responding to chants of lock her up. so i think we re going to see more of the same, that we re in a base mobilization mode, and it s either going to mobilize the president s base, the democratic base, or both of them. david? yeah, you know, it s so tough to predict. but i m going to go out on a limb and do a little bit of predicting. i m going to say that in system of the red states where the senate elections are so key and pivotal, the kavanaugh effect is still in operation. there s still going to be a stronger republican turnout in part because of the intensity of the fight over brett kavanaugh. where i m very interested in seeing is in these suburban districts, where there are more highly educated voters, who have been wavering in some of their republican commitments, what is going to be the effect of the argument over, for example, the caravan, what is going to be the effect over of these recent horrible events?

whoever, you look at democrats shaking your head going no! no, this is not the way you respond to a loss. you respond to a loss by, by doubling down your efforts. but right now they are so deflated, it s just really it s pretty stunning. well, democrats just need to get out of their own way. the momentum really seemed to be behind the blue wave and then in the past couple of weeks i ve been lucky to get out on the campaign trail with lord ashcroft polls and doing focus groups in new hampshire and new jersey and iowa and we just left minnesota. it s been interesting to see the so-called kavanaugh effect and how it has impacted the electorate. on the one hand you got republicans and reluctant trump supporters who are really energized from it and i expected
