A large-scale study on long COVID out of Israel found that various types of health issues lingered after a mild infection for several months, but cleared up within the first year. Certain symptoms, however, were more likely to persist.
With the B.C. Centre for Disease Control now saying if you have mild symptoms and are fully vaccinated, you don’t need to be tested for COVID-19, some workers face the prospect of being unable to prove they had the disease.
There are more than 170,000 long-COVID patients across Canada facing everything from fatigue and shortness of breath, to tinnitus, brain fog and muscle and joint pain. At the moment, there's no known cure, so doctors are creating their own treatment playbook for those affected by lingering symptoms of the disease.
