Second Arrest Made In Oakdale Homicide Nikkole Scruggs At approximately 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 23 detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Persons (CAP) unit arrested Nikkole Scruggs, 30, at her Oakdale home and booked her as an accessory in the September murder of Katrina Allen, 39, of Oakdale. On Nov. 4, 2020, detectives arrested Stephen Frederick, 28, of Oakdale and charged him with the shooting death of Allen. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Scruggs had knowingly concealed evidence and based on her actions, allowed Frederick to evade arrest by providing transport on multiple occasions and allowing him to stay at her home.

Edison High teacher accused of helping suspect in Oakdale slaying evade arrest

An Edison High School teacher has been arrested on suspicion of being an accessory in connection with a September slaying in Oakdale that claimed the life of a 39-year-old woman. Teacher Nikkole Scruggs, 30, was arrested at 10 a.m. Wednesday at her Oakdale home and booked into the Stanislaus County jail as an accessory in the Sept. 26 homicide of Katrina Allen, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release. Edison’s website lists her as a teacher in the AVID program. Allen was shot in the 2300 block of Twildo Road later died in an Oakdale hospital.  Scruggs is accused of knowingly concealing evidence for murder suspect Stephen Frederick, allowing him stay in her home and providing him with rides that enabled him to evade arrest before he was ultimately taken into custody in the homicide, Sheriff’s Department reported.
