Kamas Valley History Group is on a roll.
While it awaits IRS approval to become an 501( c)(3) nonprofit, it plans to open its new mobile museum during an all-day celebration that will include a ribbon cutting, arts and crafts, old-time foot races and live music on Memorial Day, said the group’s secretary Kate Wynn.
The program will be presented by Kamas Action, a group of community members that is leading projects for the revitalization of Kamas Valley, she said.
“The ribbon cutting will start things off and be done under the flagpole at Kamas City Hall,” Wynn said.

The annual Winter Arts Showcase is going virtual.
The exhibit, which is a partnership between the Park City Professional Artists Association and Arts Council of Park City and Summit County, will be presented online from Feb. 12-28 at createpc.org, said Jocelyn Scudder, executive director of the Arts Council of Park City and Summit County.
Pivoting to an online format is just another step in the exhibit’s evolution, she said.
When it began, the showcase was known as Art Elevated, and was set up in various venues including the Visitor Information Center in Kimball Junction and the Swaner EcoCenter, Scudder said.

Kate Wynn is the secretary of the group. She said they bought the trailer with money they raised during their Labor Day yard sale. Literally, we took a handful of dollar bills and paid for the trailer, Wynn said. Literally some singles because that was how people paid us.
The trailer is already gutted; the group will add floors, stands and uprights for displays, and they’ll add a ramp to make it handicap accessible. They expect to finish by Memorial Day weekend.
Wynn said she hopes to even make the outside of the trailer a historical homage to the Kamas Valley.
