NORFOLK, Va. – The No. 9 Florida lacrosse team clinched the American Athletic Conference regular season title outright after defeating Old Dominion 17-6 on Friday afternoon at L.R. Hill Sports Complex.
Florida improves to 12-2 on the year and 9-0 in league play, while Old Dominion drops to 3-13 and 1-8 in the AAC.
The Gators had nine goal scorers in the game, led by five from Brianna Harris. Shannon Kavanagh followed with four goals of her own, while Ashley Gonzalez netted two on the afternoon.
Danielle Pavinelli, Kassidy Bresnahan, Grace Haus, Maggi Hall, Paisley Eagan and Shelton Sawers each found the back of the cage once for Florida.

With 20 minutes left in the first half, midfielder Danielle Pavinelli drove to the net. The freshman darted through the eight-meter arc and ripped the ball into Vanderbilt’s net.
Goalkeeper Lexie de Roziere stretched from post to post but couldn’t stop the speedy shot. Florida then led 8-0 early.
The Commodore goalkeeper allowed three goals in four minutes until Paige Gunning replaced her in the cage.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The ninth-ranked Florida lacrosse team got to hoist the American Athletic Conference regular season trophy after clinching at least a share of the championship with its 22-9 defeat of Vanderbilt on a rainy Sunday afternoon at Donald R. Dizney Stadium.
With the victory, the Gators have now won the regular season conference championship both of their years in the AAC and have now won 10 regular season crowns across three conferences (ALC: 2011, ’12, ’13, ’14; BIG EAST: 2015, ’16, ’17, ’18; AAC: 2019, ’21).
Florida has also now won 38-straight regular season conference games, dating back to the start of conference play in the 2016 season.
