The government s decision to abrogate Article 370, which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, evoked mixed response from legal experts on Monday as some hailed it as historic and long overdue step while others called it political misadventure fraught with danger.
The government has also told the state governments that special care should be taken of Jammu and Kashmir residents and students residing in their state.
Former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda son and ex-Congress Deepender Hooda reportedly supported the Narendra Modi government’s resolution to abrogate Article 370 of the Constitution in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, hours after his senior party colleague Janardan Dwivedi backed the move.
