Four more die of Covid-19 in twin cities - Newspaper

ISLAMABAD: Three more deaths and 349 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in the capital on Friday. Officials of the local administration said the three deaths raised the toll from the virus in the capital to 702. The deceased were two males in the age group of 70-79 and a female in the age group of 60-69. They were residents of Bhara Kahu, Bari Imam and Phulgran. In the last 24 hours, 3,836 tests were conducted out of which 185 males and 164 females were found infected. The positivity rate was 9.08 per cent. The officials said 66 cases were reported in the age group of 20-29, by 59 in 30-39, 58 in 40-49, 47 in 50-59, 43 in 0-9, 32 in 60-69, 31 in 10-19, nine in 70-79 and four in 80 and above.

However, positive cases in both the cities kept declining as Islamabad saw 204 cases and the Rawalpindi district 112. Officials of the capital administration said out of the total 909 beds allocated for Covd patients in 16 hospitals in capital, 452 beds have been occupied and the occupancy rate is 49.72pc. Similarly, out of total 128 ventilators allocated for the patients in 13 hospitals 58 are occupied, hence the occupancy rate is 45.31pc. ISLAMABAD: While six people died of Covid-19 and 394 more cases were reported in Islamabad on Sunday, the Ministry of National Health Services (NHS) has decided to open another mass vaccination center in the capital. The new vaccination centre being established at Pak-China Friendship Centre will be become functional within a week. The centre will have the capacity to vaccinate 10,000 people daily. Moreover, the vaccination of people aged over 40 years is going to start from Monday (today). According to data provided by District Health Officer Dr Zaeem Zia, 3,894 tests were conducted on Saturday of which 394 samples were found positive with the positivity rate of 10.12pc.

ISLAMABAD: Nine people lost their lives to Covid-19 in the twin cities - four in Islamabad and five in Rawalpindi - on Saturday. Besides, 431 more cases emerged in the capital and 171 in garrison city. Officials of the capital administration said the deceased, two males and two females, were in the age group of 60-69, 70-79, 50-59. They were residents of E-11, I-10, F-11 and Sihala. The officials said the death toll from the virus had increased to 683. In the last 24 hours, 4,948 tests were conducted in the capital and the positivity rate remained 8.71 per cent. More lives lost to Covid-19, over 500 test positive in twin cities - Newspaper

Online ISLAMABAD: Six people lost their battle against Covid-19 in the twin cities on Friday with 427 new cases reported in Islamabad and 89 in Rawalpindi. During the last 24 hours, 5,168 tests were conducted in the capital and the positivity rate was 8.2pc. Officials of the capital administration said two patients, both male in the age group of 50-69, died in the capital. The deceased were residents of G-6 and Jhangi Syedan, they said, adding the death toll in the capital now stood at 679. There are 12,603 active cases in the capital, out of whom 264 are admitted to 16 hospitals, 240 were on oxygen support and 24 on ventilators.
