SWR Hubballi Division appeals to people not to pay heed to fake news/rumours
Arvind Malkhede, Divisional Railway Manager, Hubballi Division, in a Press Briefing held on April 9, 2021 jointly with Aneesh Hegde, Chief Public Relations Officer, South Western Railway, at DRM office, Hubballi appealed to media to inform the public that a fake video has been circulated in social media which shows that trains are overcrowded. He pointed out that the video is undated, manipulated and the information is not authentic. He clarified that there is no rush or overcrowd in any Railway Station of Hubballi Division as the Railways are running adequate number of trains. He also pointed out that based on the demand the train services are run regularly in the Division.

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], April 9 (ANI): Chief MinisterBS Yediyurappa on Friday appealed to the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) employees to end the strike and get back to work. I request KSRTC and BMTC employees to come and join the duty and start running buses from today as we are aware due to COVID-19 we have already suffered. Being the transport department it is our duty to give service to the people at this point of time listening to some unions and some people and stop giving service is not the right thing. We have already suffered, we are spending 85 per cent for the expenses and we have only 15 per cent for the development of work, said the Chief Minister.

KSRTC Strike: Additional trains to run from April 8 to 14 ANI | Updated: Apr 08, 2021 10:35 IST
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], April 8 (ANI): South Western Railway (SWR) on Wednesday said that it will run additional trains from April 8 to April 14 in view of the Karnataka Road Transport Corporation Employees (KSRTC) strike. The move also aims at clearing the extra rush of the upcoming Ugadi festival.
According to an official statement of SWR, Railway Board has approved the running of the Special Express trains with special fare, due to the strike of Karnataka Road Transport Corporation Employees and for clearing extra rush of upcoming Ugadi Festival.
Representative image The Indian Railways on Thursday chipped in to mitigate the passengers woes in the wake of state-owned transport corporations employees strike, which entered the second day over salary related issues. On the request of the Karnataka Chief Secretary, the Railway Board approved running of special trains to various destinations in Karnataka from Thursday to April 14. The South Western Railway said in a statement that these trains will operate with special fare due to strike of Karnataka Road Transport Corporation Employees and for clearing rush of upcoming Ugadi festival . While there will be one special train on Thursday from Hubballi to Yeshwantpur comprising 16 coaches, the SWR has decided to run nine trains on Friday and Saturday.
