The BJP today released its list of candidates for the State Legislative Council election. Sources say the former Chief Minister wanted a ticket for his son BY Vijayendra, who is currently vice president of the party in the state.
Voting is underway for the biennial election to the Karnataka Legislative Council's 25 seats from 20 Local Authorities' Constituencies today, for which 90 candidates are contesting.
The electorate for this election comprises elected members of urban and rural local bodies, and unlike legislative assembly or Lok Sabha polls, council contests are decided by preferential votes.
