"Best is to ban social media. Lot of good will come. Today, school-going children are so addicted to it," the Karnataka High Court remarked while hearing an appeal by X Corp (formerly Twitter) concerning blocking orders.
The original complaint in the case had been filed by B M Mallikarjuna alias Fighter Ravi, who had accused the police of demanding a bribe from him following his dispute with the management of a restaurant.
Notably, the Karnataka High Court also flagged the need for more clarity in the law as to the stage at which the arbitral award ought to be stamped, if it all this has to be done.
Justice Krishna S Dixit made the observation while dealing with a plea by a physics lecturer, who was denied such information by Marimallappa's PU College at Mysore.
