The Karnataka High Court on Monday reserved its judgment on a batch of petitions challenging the ban on hookah and hookah bars in Karnataka [R Bharath and ors v. State of Karnataka].
The Court made the observation while rejecting a challenge to the launch of an SFIO probe against Exalogic Solutions Private Limited, which is owned by Veena Thaikkandiyil, the daughter of Kerala CM, Pinarayi Vijayan.
The petitioner had reportedly objected to the MLAs and Ministers taking the oath of office in the name of voters or other persons, instead of taking it either in the name of God or by saying they "solemnly affirm."
