Local, Regional, and National artists featured in new Albrecht-Kemper exhibitions.

2022 Karen Matheis - artwork tited Piece Work - Peace Work/ Photo provided by Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art By MATT PIKE St. Joseph Post Three new exhibitions this spring at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art will feature local, regional, and national artists alike. Works from Stephen Johnson and Karen Matheis, two artists from Lawrence, Kansas, will be featured at the museum starting April 23rd. Museum Director of Marketing and Communications Jill Carlson says she is excited to have these two artists featured at the museum. "Because these pieces are pretty large scale, they're bright and colorful, and they really make you think about sort of this place that we are in right now," Carlson tells KFEQ Hotline host Barry Birr. Carlson says she especially loves the works from Matheis. "Because it reminds me of fields, as if you're flying over the fields around Missouri," Carlson explains. "And it's also kind of like a quilt, a patchwork quilt."
