People may be asked to bring their own pen or pencil when they go to the polling stations on May 6.
The covid safety measure is one of several suggested for the election of new county councillors in Lincolnshire, and a new police and crime commissioner.
Other guidance for polling day is expected to include wearing a face covering and keeping two metres from others, in line with current rules when shopping.

Those who do not fancy voting in person can apply for a postal vote, or a proxy vote in which they nominate someone they trust to go along for them.

Anyone not registered to vote is being urged to do so to ensure they can have their say in local elections taking place in May.
Lincolnshire County Councillors will be elected for 14 divisions in South Kesteven, while voters will also be going to the polls to choose the countyâs next police and crime commissioner.
The chief executive of South Kesteven District Council, Karen Bradford, will act as deputy returning officer at the elections on Thursday, May 6.

She said: âThe majority of our residents are registered but there are those who have not yet done so. With the elections just a couple of months away, we are encouraging residents to go online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote and register to ensure they donât lose the right to have their say.
South Kesteven District Council escapes legal action after failing fire and electrical safety regulations in its council houses

A council which broke fire safety regulations in homes it provided to its tenants has escaped legal action.
The Social Housing Regulator has ruled that it will not prosecute South Kesteven District Council because the local authority had taken action already to sort out its failing safety record.
As reported in the Mercury in November last year, the council, which provides homes for thousands of people in the Stamford, Bourne, Deepings and Grantham areas, was not meeting the necessary standards set out for the propertiesâ electrical, fire safety and asbestos checks.

Anyone interested in standing as a Lincolnshire County Councillor in the May elections can attend briefing sessions run by South Kesteven District Council.
The chief executive of SKDC, Karen Bradford, will act as deputy returning officer at the elections on Thursday, May 6, for Police and Crime Commissioner and Lincolnshire County Council elections.
She said the virtual briefings, which will start at 5pm on Thursday, March 4, and Monday, March 8, are intended to assist anyone thinking of becoming a local councillor. They will also explain the nomination process, outline the election timetable as well as matters relating to voting, campaigning and arrangements for the count.
