A total of 446 persons tested positive for Covid today while seven succumbed to the virus. Such a sudden spike was noticed last year in September, when 462 people had tested positive for Covid in a day.
Those who lost their lives were in the age group of 40-80 years and include five females and two males. The deceased belong to Civil Lines, Rajguru Nagar, Model Town, Dugri, Prem Nagar, Karamsar Colony and LIG Colony. Four patients were admitted to the PGI, Chandigarh.
The positive cases today include five healthcare workers, four pre-operative cases, seven teachers and three students. The teachers who tested positive include two teachers from GNE College, one teacher from Manav Rachna International School Dugri, one teacher from PAU, one teacher from Amrit Indo-Canadian Academy, one teacher from BCM School Shastri Nagar and one teacher from Arya College. Three students who tested positive are from GNE College.
