Dennis House says he has a lifetime contract with the people of Connecticut.
âThis is my next chapter,â House said, explaining his new job at WTNH-TV8 and its sister station, WCTX-TV59, which starts January 11.
House worked at WFSB-TV3 for 28 years before leaving the station in September.
âWhen I left Channel 3, it was always my intention to get back into television,â House said. âAnd this opportunity arose. We discussed it, we moved forward, and here I am.â
House explained his new job title as âchief political anchor.â
âThat is similar to what George Stephanopoulos has at ABC News,â House said. âThatâs his title. Iâll be doing fill-in anchoring and doing some political reporting.â

Dennis House, the former longtime anchor at WFSB-TV Channel 3, will return to television early next year as chief political anchor for WTNH-TV Channel 8, based in New Haven.
The news, first reported by the Hartford Courant Monday afternoon, was confirmed by House on Twitter later that evening. “BREAKING: I’m coming back to television news,” House tweeted.
In early September, House announced he had parted ways with WFSB after 28 years. In November, he said he had been hired to teach digital media at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford as a visiting fellow beginning in January.
