Longtime WFSB Anchor Dennis House Joining WTNH

Read / Add Comments Dennis House, the popular news anchor who left WFSB-TV Channel 3 earlier this year, will return to Connecticut TV in early 2021 as the chief political anchor for ABC affiliate WTNH-TV Channel 8. House said on Twitter: I m really excited to be coming back to serve the people of Connecticut! The Emmy-winning anchor left CBS affiliate Channel 3 in September after 28 years.  Currently, House and his wife, Kara Sundlun, who is an anchor for WFSB, are battling COVID-19. In an update posted to his blog Sunday, Dec. 20, House said his wife’s cough was doing better and he had a slight cough and some congestion.

For the past four months, Dennis House has spent his time in the public eye filling in as a guest host on WTIC-AM1080 and getting a job as a digital media instructor at the University of St. Joseph. Starting in January, however, House will be return to what he is known for doing best — being on television. House has been hired by WTNH-TV8 and its sister station WCTX-TV59 to host a Sunday political news show and fill in as an anchor and reporter. House has been off the air since September, when he and WFSB-TV3 parted ways after 28 years as anchor. He’ll start his new duties at Channels 8 on Jan. 11.

House, who contracted the coronavirus this month, left his previous news job at WFSB-TV in the summer. His wife, WFSB-TV s Kara Sundlun, also contracted the coronavirus; both are fatigued and Sundlun has mild flu-like symptoms.

Sundlun made the announcement on her Twitter page on Tuesday, Dec. 15, saying at the time House and their children had tested negative. During a second test, House, who also worked at WFSB, tested positive and is quarantined at home with Sundlun.
