New Delhi, April 28 : The New Zealand cricketers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) who will play the World Test Championship (WTC) final against India, may stay back and fly out to England from here. New Zealand play a two-Test series against England, starting on June 2, followed by the WTC final from June 18.

Jamieson, coming off an expensive Twenty20 series against Australia, took a tidy 1-27 off his four overs with the ball as Mumbai posted 159-9. His first wicket was Suryakumar Yadav, caught behind by de Villiers for 31, after he was given the new ball by his skipper Virat Kohli.

Still it got close, and Jamieson batting at No 8 faced just four balls before he smashed one back at bowler Jasprit Bumrah who stopped it with his foot, and Jamieson ran through to sacrifice his wicket and keep de Villiers in with seven balls left in the innings.

Getting snapped up in the IPL could thwart his hopes of being picked though with RCB s season beginning April 10 – leaving a tight turnaround with regard to travel and preparation time with his new team. Black Caps selector Gavin Larsen confirmed coach Gary Stead was in talks with the IPL clubs about when players were required to arrive in India. Allen could potentially be available for selection against Bangladesh if the timing worked, Larsen said.
