In an effort to repair its reputation in the community, Suite Liv'n of Willmar in March 2023 sent out a news release that was not factual stating that its properties had been declared a crime free zone in accordance with the Minnesota Crime Free Multi-Housing Program.
The Kandiyohi County Board awarded Lake Country Mechanical the contract to upgrade the heat pump system at both the county Law Enforcement Center and Health and Human Services Building.
Brayan Fabricio Galeas-Hernandez, 18, of Willmar, was sentenced in Kandiyohi County District Court to five years of supervised probation after serving 128 days in the Kandiyohi County Jail. Galeas-Hernandez was originally charged as a juvenile with two counts of assault. He pleaded guilty in adult court to an amended charge of felony threats of violence in September. All other charges in the case were dismissed.
